The rectogeus muscle lies near the |coccygeus| muscle on each side of the |pelvis|. The rectogeus muscle consists of two bands of plain muscular tissue which extend from the second and third |vertebrae| of the |coccyx| and descend to the ~posterior~ wall of the |anal canal|.
